For your convenience, our list of social bookmarking sites is alphabetized, and has been set up for each site to open in a new window, and where possible, it links directly to the new user registration page. We are doing our best to list ensure that this is truly a list of free social bookmarking sites.

If you are looking to create social bookmarks as a way of creating links to your website, I highly recommend SocialAdr which has a free service, however the paid service is very inexpensive and you can expect and get amazing results with it.

With quality blog networks like ArticleRanks, you can get 500 to 1000 high quality high pr links to your website.

While a lot of SEO experts say that systems that create back-links to your website will cause you to be penalized by Google, and I appreciate everything Google offers. However, these days a lot of people are going to social bookmarking sites like StumbleUpon to discover new websites. Tools like SocialAdr and ArticleRanks can create channels of traffic to your website quickly, while still being “Google Courteous”. I encourage you to do what it takes to drive traffic to your website ethically, and to create original quality content. If anything, look to w3c.org for guidance, not Google. BlinkList does have a user friendly interface indicating that it is being run well and efficiently. They also quote “fully profitable” on their site. Furthermore, you can label and comment about any web page on the Internet.

Blurpalicious.com- “Get Blurped!” Not too different from other social bookmarking sites, but I love the tagline.

BMAccess.net- A family safe social bookmarking site that filters out unwanted porn, drugs and illegal sites.

Bookmark-Manager.com – A neat organizer for bookmarks, calendar, diaries and knowledge.

BookMarkTracker.com – Free online storage, management, synchronizing and RSS sharing of your bookmarks.

Bookmax.net – Access them from wherever you are. This is another basic social bookmarking website.

Digg.com – The social news site that changed the Internet, Digg.com is a high power authority. When a site is listed in Digg.com, and even if it only has a couple of votes, that website will rank highly on Google and other search engines for certain terms. Squidoo.com – Squidoo is a 2.0 property which lets people and businesses set up a ‘lens’ which lists links, tags and relevant RSS feeds to different subjects. Squidoo was heavily penalized on February 24, 2011 by Google for being a “datafarm”, ouch.

Tamilers.com – A social bookmarking site where you can submit stories and create groups. This site also allows voting and commenting.

TechCrisp.com – A social bookmark the website where you can discuss your tech startup.

Technorati.com – Always changing and reinventing themselves, this recognized authority offers links to blog posts, tagging and a social bookmarking section.

Thoof.com – Thoof.com is a user generated news and information service that claims to learn about what users are interested in and delivers news that they care about.

TotalPad.com – Totalpad.com is an online news and article community. They plug themselves as a place where people are free to voice their opinions.

Tumblr – A somewhat popular social bookmarking site. If you are not yet a member just follow this link, then hit the forgot password page, it will then give you a link to join.

Twitter – It can be used as a type of social bookmark that you broadcast in 140 characters or less.

Library of UPenn.edu Bookmark – Requires a “PennKey ID”. I put this on the list to show you that educational institutions have social bookmarks too. Links to your website from a domain ending with .edu is quite valuable in search engine rankings. Does your site offer a college discount?

Uvouch.com – Another basic social bookmarking site, users can save their findings with one click, at one place and access it from anywhere. Had a “spammy” looking advertisement on it when I checked it out.

Yahoo My Results Bookmarklet – The MOST POPULAR social search and bookmarking service on the web. It’s similar to Delicious and something they launched before acquiring Delicious. Yahoo Bookmarks lets users store bookmarks using their Yahoo Toolbar and access them from any computer.
